Founding of Tesla company :
Tesla was founded under the name Tesla Motors on July 1, 2003, and its founders were Martin Eberhard and Mark Tarpenning. The company's founding was prompted by GM's decision to retire and phase out all of its EV1 electric vehicles in 2003. Their vision for electric cars was fuel-efficient. Eberhard said he wanted to create a "technological car manufacturer" with core technologies such as a battery, computer software and a proprietary engine.

On October 26, 2021, Tesla's market value reached $1 trillion. On April 5, 2024, CEO Elon Musk announced on the social media platform Twitter that he would unveil a self-driving taxi from Tesla on August 8, 2024. Tesla has been subjected to numerous lawsuits and controversies due to Musk's statements and behavior, in addition to accusations of whistleblower retaliation and human rights violations. The workers alleged serious technical problems with their products have yet to be resolved. Tesla is also considered one of the most short-sold companies in history.
