Founding of Sony company :

In 1960, Akio Morita, one of the founders of the American company Sony, founded it. During this period, he was struck by the mobility of employees between American companies, something unheard of in Japan at the time. When he returned to Japan, he encouraged experienced, middle-aged employees at other companies to reevaluate their careers and consider joining Sony. Thanks to this strategy, the company held many positions, and inspired other Japanese companies to do the same.

In addition, Sony played a major role in Japan's development as a powerhouse during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. It also helped significantly improve American perceptions of “Made in Japan” products. Sony was known for the quality of its production, was able to charge above-market prices for its consumer electronics, and countered price cuts.

restructuring :

Several news sources reported in December 2016 that Sony was planning to restructure its US operations by merging its television and film activities with gaming company Sony Interactive Entertainment. According to reports, this plan was to place Sony Pictures under the management of Andrew House, CEO of Sony Interactive, even though he would not be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the film studio. Sony was expected to make a final decision on merging its TV, film and gaming businesses by the end of the fiscal year in March 2017.
