The "Detective Conan" manga series began on June 18, 1994, and was adapted into an anime series on January 8, 1996 in Japan. The series continued to be released until it reached more than 1,000 chapters, making the manga of "Detective Conan" ranked 22nd on the list of most published manga. The manga was a huge success, with more than 120 million copies sold in Japan. The manga has been published weekly in Shonen Sendai magazine since June 18, 1994.
